Meet the Team
Roy is responsible for the teaching at Stylz Jive. He started dancing when he and Rosemary were invited to a Valentine's dance back in 1998, he has loved it ever since! He started teaching in 2001, while working for the Boogie Back Jive Company. Roy taught at Mottram Jive Club for a number of years before he set up Stylz Jive. He also teaches regularly for Hot Roc Jive, LeRoc Latin Jive, Blitz Jive, Jivetastic and Cinnamon Jive and is a guest teacher for a number of other dance clubs. Roy has taught at corporate events for Stockport Council, East Cheshire NHS Trust, and also for the Willow Park Housing Trust based in Wythenshawe. He has also taught on the Thomson's Cruise Ship Destiny in the Canaries, Morocco & Madeira during 2008 and around the Mediterranean in 2009. He has performed numerous cabarets and shows at various venues including the Northwest Festival of Remembrance at Stockport's Plaza Theatre in 2005, 2006, 2007 and again in 2008. He has also provided choreography for groups such as Scamps.
In 2003 Roy came third out of 168 couples in the 'Take a Chance' category of
the 'UK Open Jive Competition' at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool.
This is Rosemary who will be on reception every Tuesday evening to welcome people on their way in. She is very friendly and will help you with whatever problems or questions you may have.
Trish is also a professionally qualified (UKA) dance instructor and an excellent and very stylish dancer . She assists Roy with the teaching and has performed numerous cabarets with him. She also worked with Roy on the Thomson's Cruise Ship Destiny as they travelled around the Canaries, Morocco and Madeira in 2008 and again on the Mediterranean cruise during 2009.
We are very fortunate to have two of the best DJ's in the North West providing the music for our Tuesday dance nights. Rob and CJ (Alias Clive) are all well respected on the dance circuit for the excellent selection of music they play. Having two DJ's on a rota, means we get a constant variety of the best dance music around and ensures that it never gets repetitive. There is always a good mix of styles, something for everybody. If you have any favourite dance tracks just ask, and if they have it they will play it during the evening.
Rob CJ (Clive)
Our Dance Staff are: Pete, Chris & Colin. They are very friendly and extremely approachable people who are here to help you. They are also experienced dancers who would be delighted to go over the beginner's routine with any new dancers during the freestyle dancing. They also teach the special 'beginners only' session at 9pm so that those who have been dancing less that 6 weeks can go over the routine they learnt earlier in the evening while more experienced dancers have a go at an intermediate class in the main hall.
If you ever need any help you can ask any of our staff or just find somebody wearing a Stylz Jive T-shirt and they will either help you or point you in the right direction.

Roy
is a professionally qualified (UKA) dance instructor and Full Member of the
LeRoc Modern Jive Federation. He also represents the LeRoc Federation as
their Northern Regional Officer.
